Let's Pretend it's Maple Syrup

I refuse to even put this sugar water in the same category as real Vermont maple syrup, but in a pinch it works well for pancakes and waffles. And it's probably about the same thing that Aunt Jemima makes.

4 c. sugar
2 c. boiling water
1 t. maple or vanilla flavoring

Combine sugar and water in sauce pan. Bring to boil, and boil for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and add maple or vanilla flavoring.
