A couple of these ingredients are things that I do bring back from the States and just keep in my pantry. I love having taco packets on hand. But when I run out, I use this recipe.
2 t. dried minced onion
1 t. salt
1 t. chili powder
1/2 t. cornstarch
1/2 t. crushed dried red pepper
1/2 t. dried minced garlic
1/4 t. dried oregano leaves
1/2 t. ground cumin
Combine all ingredients until evenly distributed. Store in a small ziploc or tupperware. Makes 1 pkg or about 2 T. taco seasoning.
To use, brown 1 to 1 1/2 pounds ground beef. Drain. Add 1/2 cup water and taco seasoning. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
